TfN Entrée...Ride | Suffer | Brag

Crazy about TFN

TFN over the years has progressed to be one of the most sought after tours in the country. Many riders from all over the world who want to experience Nilgiris would have heard about The ‘Tour of Nilgiris’.

Last year saw the introduction of Competitive segments (CS), which gave riders the ability to test themselves under severe conditions.  A normal tour around the nilgiris was tweaked in TFN 2011 adding competitive segments which saw riders racing against the clock for a set distance which added a bit more spice to the tour. Rajesh Nair, the main behind the TFN brand won the inaugural event on the last day, clinching victory right at the last moment from Mark Anderson who wore the blue jersey for the first 4 stages.

During the final leg of CS on the outskirts of ooty, I was standing at the finish line timing the riders as they crossed the line. The tension and excitement was electrifying as Rajesh Nair started the final CS stage that was a 6km climb towards Ooty ahead of Mark. Unfortunately for Mark, it was Rajesh’s day who clocked a impressive time despite a fall at the start of the day, Half way through the climb Mark hit the wall, signalling an end to his dominance on the leader board and handed over the tour trophy to Mr Rajesh Nair.

TFN Entrée

This year sees the introduction of something very interesting, its called ‘TFN Entrée’, which allows 50 riders to ride TFN for 2 days. All a rider has to do is manage to reach Ooty on 19th Dec, 2012 and rest assured everything else is taken care by the TFN Team.
